My name is Chris. Originally from St. Louis, I am a multifaceted designer currently working independently in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have over ten years of experience working with a variety of clients across a range of media. In addition to design, I commonly utilize my skills in photography and front-end development for final projects.
I like to view design holistically. Design is all around us, both good and bad, and most people are unaware of its profound effect on our lives. Good design simplifies aspects of our lives, it clearly conveys a message, it communicates personality. I see good design as successful problem solving and the key to successful problem solving is empathy. When designing things for people, whether it be an identity, a website, or an app, you must deeply consider who you are designing for and what their needs are. I believe that the best results come from a collaborative environment where multiple perspectives minimize blind spots. I strive to find the perfect balance between a simple, intuitive user experience and an inspiring visual aesthetic regardless of the medium I’m working in.
When I'm not designing, I'm trying new beers, learning something new about baseball, telling people “You know so-and-so is from St. Louis, right?” or being humbled by the complexity of the world around me… sometimes all four of those things are happening at the same time.
